Why You Should Focus On Page Load Speed in 2019

Well, speed plays an indispensable role in this age of internet and technological advancement. Why should people wait if they have so many options at their hands?

Honestly, don’t we get irritated easily if a website takes long time to load? As per statistics, 50% of us don’t wait even for 2 seconds if the website content doesn’t pop up.

Now, who doesn’t want to increase the conversion rates and decrease the exit rates? One of the most crucial reasons of exit rates is poor page load performance.

You might be facing these same problems on your websites.

No problem!

Below, I will show why you should focus on page load speed as this year will be iconic for page speed.

Importance Of A Fast Speed Website:

Suppose you are looking for a particular item in a shop and if the seller takes a long time to show it, won’t you get irritated?

Yes, you will.

Something similar happens when we have to wait for long time for pages to load and naturally we get easily frustrated.

This is how the exit rates increase and many e-commerce sites lose their potential customers.

So, now this is clear that there is a direct relation between page speed and customer retention and exit rate.

The bottom line:

As per Google, page load speed is considered one of the major ranking factors.

In the year 2009, Google has taken the initiative “Let’s make the web faster” to make a number of commitments.

Throughout the last few years, with the advancement of technology and devices, the success of a website depends on how fast a website is loading.

What Is a Good Page Load Speed?

Or What is google’s recommended page speed score?

So, I divided Page Load Speed into three parts to understand it clearly.

As per the statistics, less than 1 second is considered as excellent, less than 2.5 seconds is acceptable and website that takes more than 2.5 seconds to load is simply poor.

Now, those pages which take more than 3 seconds to load can affect the website’s Search Engine Optimization (SEO) or rankings.

So, we can see that every second is vital in today’s internet experience.

It is common belief that fast websites are efficient, confident, professional and reliable.

Here are some important information according to the statistics report which can clearly state that why You should have Good Page Load Speed.

  • As per one report 79% online shoppers, if they find any trouble with load speed they simply avoid the website.
  • 47% of people want from a website to get loaded in less than 2 seconds.
  • 40% of people simply exit if the page takes longer than 3 seconds.
  • 85% of internet users while surfing internet on mobile site expect to load as fast as or faster than the sites on desktop.

Note: All above stats are taken from reliable internet resources.

Google Recommended Page Load Time:

According to Google’s latest research, the average mobile landing page takes 22 seconds to load. Research also suggests that 53% of people leave the mobile page if it takes to load longer than 3 seconds.

People want to get the information or the necessary data as soon as they click on your website.

The customers are required to and wish to pay bills quickly on banking sites. Google has found that 70% of pages take 7 seconds to load has the visual content above the fold.

To fully load the visual content above and below the fold take approximately 10 seconds.

This problem gives bad user experience to the users because as the loading time increases from 1 second to 7 seconds, the rate of visitor abandoning increases by 113%.

As per Google’s recommendation 70% of pages analyzed were over 1MB, 36% were over 2MB and 12% were over 4MB.

Using a fast 3G connection, 1.49MB takes approx  7 seconds to load. So you can understand how important is to optimize your website’s mobile version.
